Update: The SKY is on the Chicago auto show floor.
Looks better on the floor than the CGI's did. That front grille could
really use some work though. Also, a black leather interior would be nice
too.
(The pictures bellow were accidently released by Saturn corp about a week
before the chicago auto show)
For those who don't know, the Saturn SKY is a future roadster design that has gone through several
changes over the past 6 months. The 2.2L ecotec is supercharged to 180hp and 190 foot-pounds of torque.
The car also features a 5 speed manual transmission, as well as a load of very bizzare (but interesting)
features. Expect to see white LED headlights, 2 "hidden" backseats, active matrix center mounted
console, and console buttons with active matrix mini-displays.
This car should be pretty quick. I expect the 0-60 times to be at least
in the 6 second range, taking in consideration Saturn's light plastic body
and past performance characteristics.
This vehicle design may debut at the upcoming Chicago auto show.
Here are rev 1 pictures, when it was first displayed in august 2001. These have been public since then. Nothing new.
